About me
Angela M. Antonelli is a Research Professor and the Executive Director of the Center for Retirement Initiatives (CRI) at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration and a Fellow of the National Academy of Social Insurance.
As a founder and Executive Director of the CRI, Angela works closely with policymakers, states, and stakeholders to expand the availability and improve the effectiveness of retirement savings, investment, and income solutions for retirement plans and programs for private sector workers. This includes providing technical assistance, best practices, data, and research.
In 2015, Angela established and continues to host the State-Facilitated Retirement Savings Program Network (SRSPN), a network of states retirement savings programs that meets monthly. In addition, the CRI serves as a clearinghouse and resource hub for state-facilitated retirement savings programs. To date, there are 20 such state programs in different stages of implementation, administering more than $1.9+ billion in retirement assets and almost 1 million funded saver accounts.
Prior to joining Georgetown, the Honorable Angela Antonelli served in senior positions in the government, consulting, and nonprofit sectors, including as the Assistant Secretary & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has a B.A., summa cum laude, from Cornell University and an MPA with honors from Princeton University.
